Genetic Designer — Privacy Policy

1. Scope
This policy describes what geneticdesigner.io ("the Site") collects, why, and who receives it. This Site is not directed to anyone under 21, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors. We do not sell your personal data.
2. What We Collect, and Why
- Orders: name, email address, phone number if you give one, shipping and billing address, the items and total, the payment method you choose, and for card payments the last four digits and the processor's transaction number. Used to process, ship and confirm your order and to keep records the law requires.
- Accounts: your email address, or your Discord or Google sign-in identity, to let you sign in. Used to run your account.
- Community: posts, replies, messages, follows, likes, reports, stash entries, profile photos and any other photos you choose to upload, shown as you set them. Used to run the community and keep it safe.
- Photos: every photo is stripped of location and camera data (including GPS) on our server before it is published. A file we cannot read is refused rather than stored.
- Newsletter and order email list: your email address, and first name when you order. Used to send you updates. See section 5.
- Questions you ask the on-site assistant: the text you type. Used to answer you.
- Usage: pages viewed, device and browser information, and shopping-funnel events (add to cart, begin checkout, purchase) with a random visitor identifier. Used to keep the Site working and to improve it.
3. Payment Information
Card payments are processed by Authorize.Net. Your full card number is sent to the processor and is not stored on our servers; we keep only the last four digits and the transaction number. We also accept cryptocurrency, CashApp, Venmo and precious metals. For those, the wallet, handle or settlement details are sent to you in your order confirmation email, and the payment itself is made on that outside service, which has its own privacy policy. We keep a record of the order and the payment reference so we can match your payment to your order.
4. Who Receives Your Information
- Authorize.Net — card payment processing.
- Supabase — database hosting, sign-in, and storage of published photos.
- Resend — delivery of order confirmations and email you ask for.
- Upstash — short-lived rate-limit and duplicate-order records.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — bot protection on sign-up forms; it receives your IP address and browser signals.
- Google Analytics — usage statistics; it receives your IP address and page activity, and may set cookies.
- Our own analytics service — the funnel events described above.
- AI providers (Groq, Google, OpenRouter, NVIDIA and others we may switch between) — the text you type to the on-site assistant is sent to one of them to produce an answer. Do not type personal details into it.
- Shipping carriers — your name and shipping address.
- Our email list — see section 5.
We do not sell personal data. We also disclose information where required by law.
5. Marketing Email
If you place an order or subscribe, your email address and first name are added to our email list and you may receive marketing email from us. You can unsubscribe at any time: use the unsubscribe link in any of those emails (one click, no login), or email us at the address below and we will remove you.
6. Retention
We keep order information as long as needed for fulfillment, recordkeeping and legal compliance, and account and community content until you ask us to delete it.
7. Security
We apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including tokenized card handling and server-side removal of photo location data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
8. Your Choices and Requests
You may ask for a copy of your information or for its deletion by emailing us. We act within 30 days, subject to legal and recordkeeping requirements.
